Your grade in this course will be based on daily homework assignments, lab reports, quizzes, tests, and two exams (January and June). Both exams will be cumulative in nature, so it is important that you understand the material in each unit and how it connects to other units.

Your grade will be calculated as follows:

Tests (including small quizzes and both cumulative exams): 65%
Lab Reports: 20%
Homework: 15%

Late work will be accepted with a penalty of 20% per day. After 5 days, the work receives no credit.

If you keep a record of all grades you earn in this class, you will be able to calculate your cumulative average at any time. First, calculate your homework average by adding up the total points earned on each graded assignment and dividing by the total number of points possible on all assignments. Then do the same for your Lab average and your Test average. Finally, use the percentages above to calculate your weighted cumulative average to date:

(Test Avg)(0.65) + (Lab Avg)(0.20) +(HW Avg)(0.15) = Cumulative Average
